No rest for the wicked. Insomniac Games is busy with several projects at the same time and is already preparing the ground for the production of Marvel’s Wolverine.
Marvel’s Wolverine is quietly sharpening its claws behind the scenes. While the game isn’t expected until at least 2024, the studio is poised to begin a major development milestone.
Marvel’s Wolverine development news
Development of Marvel’s Wolverine will begin shortly. The future PS5 exclusive, announced in September 2021, hasn’t given any news since then. Normal, since the game is not long-awaited and will be released after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which itself is planned for 2023 at the earliest. Insomniac Games would also prepare other secret projects, including a multiplayer-oriented one. The studio is busy, but that’s not stopping it from preparing the ground for its adaptation of the famous X-Men.
Mike Yosh, the game’s lead animator, tweeted to announce that the performance and motion capture phase of Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 would begin soon. ” So peaceful and calm… It won’t stay that way for long ‘ he explained, accompanied by an image where we distinguish the motion capture space of the Californian studio. In concrete terms, this means that the main animations of the exclusive and the cinematics will be recorded in the next few days and this for long weeks or even whole months.
A more mature and gory game?
This therefore remains an important step in the development of such a game as it will shape both the story and the gameplay afterwards. However, the filming with the actors should not start immediately. However, this should be one of the next steps considering that production of Marvel’s Wolverine is still in its infancy anyway.
For now, all we know is that the game’s tone will be significantly more mature than Marvel’s Spider-Man. And that’s clearly what we’d expect with Logan headlining. We envision the title to be more violent, even bloodier than what we’re used to from Insomniac Games. It will certainly be necessary to be patient before seeing Wolverine in action and getting concrete news from the game.
