Ubisoft still has many projects with its Assassin’s Creed license and some are really tempting. As for the fans, they just stumbled upon an unexpected treasure…
Ubisoft still has several projects for the Assassin’s Creed license. We can mention, for example, Jade, the mobile title that takes us to China, and Red, which will take us to Japan. It’s important to note that there is no release date yet. It also seems that the studio is working on the remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, which would have started production in September 2023. According to sources from Kotaku and Insider Gaming, the developers would use their experience with Skull & Bones to modernize, the fourth part of the assassin’s license. With so many games coming up, fans are looking for information. You have just discovered a little treasure.
Assassin’s Creed goes back in time
Fans have posted a discovery on Reddit that really takes us back in time. Several video clips from the various Assassin’s Creed games that are in full development have found their way onto the internet. For example, we see Connor from AC3 on a mast, in an unmodeled environment or even early gameplay from Origins. Some games were even more advanced than others, such as AC 4 Black Flag (which was then called Golden Age). The graphical basics were already there, but what is particularly interesting are the text fields that seem to simulate a future dialogue or give the testers clues.
These videos are a goldmine for fans who are always ready to discover the secrets of the production. Surprisingly, there were very few changes between these initial renders and the final version. The most important remains that of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which was still called Victory and shows us the first user interface. We see Jacob Frye’s first look in a slightly simpler outfit than the one he will wear later.
Getting less dark?
On the other hand, this discovery was also an opportunity for players to regret certain Ubisoft decisions. On Reddit, some are still complaining about the treatment of Syndicate, which was originally intended to be much darker. However, the studio quickly changed course: “If you think about it, if someone is spending thirty to forty hours in a game, you don’t want the atmosphere to be completely oppressive», explained the studio in a making-of. This decision causes despair among fans. “I would kill for this dark gothic London! It looks much better and more atmospheric than what we have» exclaims a user. Unfortunately, what has happened is done and fans will now look to the future Witch. For fans of dark atmosphere, this new game could put Ubisoft back on the right track as it takes us back to the era of witch hunts.
