Shrek 5

Everyone's favorite ogre has a new look at the Shrek 5 look, but for some reason only Xbox seems to like it.

It has been 15 years since Shrek last received the movie, but in 2026, Shrek 5 was finally released and even got the first trailer yesterday. The trailer in question is Memey's, Shrek and the Donkey ask who the most fair person in the Magic Mirror is, which is obviously Shrek as he rolls through his faux tiktoks in sunglasses, he's in a PVC dance, in a PVC suit, you might remember tiktok on tiktok and take pictures on his face and will remember taking pictures of your own face. Then, that's…well, Shrek and the Donkey, only a slight redesign, the first since the series that started over twenty years ago.

Fiona also has one, all three of them are played by their original voice actors, namely Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz. But they also played Zendaya with Zendaya, who was playing Shrek and Fiona's daughter Felicia, a very meaningful actor, because the original movie always hired anyone at the time. The problem is, not everyone likes Shrek’s new look. Just go to Shrek’s Twitter account to post the reply on the trailer and you’ll see comments like “What’s wrong with their faces?” Then “We changed the sound and we can do it again.”

Personally, I really think it doesn't look good at all. Strangely, this is almost because I've seen this character almost all my life, but the animation itself is very good and more vivid than previous series – apparently Dreamworks is following the real Great Cat in Boots: The Last Wish: The Last Wish.

However, there is another person or entity that likes it: Xbox UK. Yes, I also question the marketing situation these days, but Xbox UK shares that it thinks “we are a baby who looks back.” I'm not sure if we need to redesign the state of Shrek from Xbox, but we have it, so… that's it! Can't wait to hear what Nintendo UK thinks about the full trailer.

Shrek 5 is currently scheduled to be released on July 1, 2026.
