Sifu Do better. It has sold more than 1 million copies since its February 8 release.
The game also has over 10 million hours of playtime, with 45% of players completing the challenging second level. Over 150,000 players have learned enough kung fu to defeat the game’s main antagonist, Yang, and some have even reached the game’s true ending, Wu De.
“We are very excited about how well Sifu has been received by fans and the media,” said executive producer Pierre Tarno. “We set out to create a true kung fu action game that pays homage to our favorite kung fu movie. We are grateful to fans around the world, but we are especially honored by the incredible reception the game has received in China.
“For us, this reception in China is a way to see the real success numbers of the game, it’s the largest portion of our sales outside of North America, coupled with the positive reviews from Chinese reviewers. It’s for us crucial”.
Sifu was developed by the same people who brought you a pretty awesome Absolver. The game has an interesting twist, because every time you die, you get a little older.
While you may get older, you will also get better at fighting. You start with a young student who has been training his entire life to avenge the murder of his family by a team of assassins.
Your goal is to hunt down killers one by one through “gang-infested suburbs, hidden corners deep in the city, and chilly corridors of corporate buildings.”
Sifu is available on PlayStation systems and PC through the Epic Games Store.
