Original message: Strategy epic also comes as a VR version (10.02.2025 – 4:15 p.m.)
After the Early Access start last week, Sid Meier's Civilization VII will officially be playable for the width of Tuesday. However, the end of the flagpole is far from being reached, because the long -standing strategy series should also make the leap into virtual reality with the latest offshoot.
Firaxis has been involved in a cooperation with the developer Playside Studios and 2K to publish a VR version of Civilization VII for Meta Quest 3 and the Meta Quest 3S. The release of this VR version should therefore take place in the further course of spring 2025. How this immersive VR version of Civilization VII should look like was demonstrated using a trailer that you can look at.
Civilization VII thus marks the VR debut of the long-term series, because a strategy game of the franchise had never been published for a VR platform beforehand. The fact that the release is now planned exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and 3S is likely to annoy some VR fans, but at least the responsible developers cover the most popular VR headsets on the PC market.
The game is adapted and optimized accordingly so that you can expect a special user interface and configuration that was created especially for VR users.
