The messenger Signal is considered by many to be independent of Facebook WhatsApp-Alternative popular.
Signal offers additional options for security and privacy. But you can’t seem to get around linking your private phone number to create an account with Signal either.
With the following tricks you can do this without giving your phone number.
If you want to bypass this to protect your privacy, there are a couple of options.
Because once registered and activated on the PC, you can use the signal there independently of your smartphone.
1. Use unused landline number for Signal account
Install Signal (temporarily) on any smartphone and enter a landline number available to you when you register. Instead of using the verification via SMS code, you can be called there briefly and the code communicated. Then you couple the signal with the PC app and can then uninstall the messenger from the smartphone if you wish.
2. Use the signal on the PC without a telephone
As an alternative to the first method, you can also use the Signal Android app using the Bluestacks-Emulators use on the PC. With this method, you also use your landline number to create the account. This saves the detour via a smartphone to set up. Thanks to Bluestacks’ access to your webcam, you can also use it to connect the Signal PC app and then use it instead of the emulator.
3. Use prepaid cards from the supermarket
Instead of your personal telephone number, you can also use a prepaid number purchased for this purpose from the supermarket or a free SIM card use. After registration and coupling with the PC app, you can then remove it from the smartphone and keep it safe. If you don’t share the number with anyone, Signal or data sniffers cannot assign you to it.
4. Use virtual telephone number for signal
You can also use a virtual telephone number to register Signal via SMS code or telephone call. Skype, Fonial or TextNow offer such online telephone numbers including SMS reception for a small fee.
