There is still no specific release date for the new edition of the horror classic Silent Hill 2, but new advertising materials may have at least further specified the release period.
The well-known video game retailer GameStop has now put new advertising material into circulation that may specify the release period of Silent Hill 2 Remake in more detail. Konami and Bloober Team are targeting the current year 2024 – a circumstance that also emerges from the advertising material that has appeared online.
After the title has already received age ratings from various authorities around the world, according to GameStop’s promotional material, the release is expected to take place at the end of 2024. Corresponding advertisements have now been placed and are appearing in large numbers on social media platforms.
Of course, this is not yet an official confirmation that the Silent Hill 2 remake will actually be released in this time window, as a statement from Konami is still pending. However, there are increasing signs that this should happen just in time for the busy Christmas season. After all, retailers regularly receive information from the responsible companies in secret – and such advertisements are normally not placed negligently – in contrast to placeholder release dates on product pages on the Internet.
The expectations of survival horror fans for the remake of Silent Hill 2 are high, but it remains to be seen whether the game can fulfill them. The original game is considered one of the best games in the entire genre, but the recently released trailer focusing on the combat left some fans rather doubtful.
