A first revelation in Hades 2
It was until then one of the unsolved mysteries of Hades, the first of his name. But with the arrival of Mélinoé’s journey, we finally know who the narrator of the first game is. It is our heroine herself who confirms this to us. It is actually Homer, the poet and author of the Iliad and the Odyssey. We discover it in a memory of the young girl as she plays hide-and-seek with Hekate, the goddess of necromancy and mentor to Melinoe. The latter even complains about interventions by the author that disrupt her research. “Hush, Homer. How do I catch it when you describe all my movements out loud?
With this new nod to Greek mythology, Hades fans exploded with joy on social media. You can finally put the puzzle pieces together and uncover the clues that were already there in the first Hades. “The narrator, who is just called “old man” in the first Zagreus game“, points out one fan. Others may have noticed that in the King of the Underworld’s throne room there was a statue of an old man, reminiscent of the famous bust of Homer that serves as his depiction in history books. All we can do now is hope that the testing phases or early access allow us to discover more secrets of Hades 2 before the final version of the game is released.
