Although Deadop will never be finished, Streamer Dr Disrespect has now laughed well again.
The studio Midnight Society, co-founded by scandal streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect”, finally closes his gates-just four months after massive layoffs.
The message comes on the day on which Google Beahn's monetarization ban cancel on YouTube. A bad timing for an already turbulent story.
From hype to the bitter end
Midnight Society was founded in 2021 by Beah and the former call-of-duty community manager Robert Bowling. Since then, the studio has been working on its big Deadop project, a Free2Play extraction shooter vertikalem gameplay
.
Initially, the studio seemed to be on the right track, but in 2024 the fate of fate.
Last year Beaht opened the public that he had exchanged “inappropriate” news with a minor in 2017. He later tried to dismiss his statements as “jokes”, but the damage was done.
Bowling and Midnight Society distanced themselves from Behahm on the same day.
The first noticeable setback followed in September 2024: The studio announced “considerable” layoffs and spoke of “several unexpected challenges”.
In a statement on social media, the studio now announced its final end:

It is also said that the studio is actively looking for ways to impart new jobs at other studios to the released developers. Finally, Midnight thanked the community and apologizes that it has not reached the original goal.

Google raises Dr Disrespects YouTube spell
At the same time as the end of Midnight Society, there is a surprising turn for Dr Disrespect: Google picks up the lock that has so far made it impossible to monetize his YouTube channel.
Google had suspended Beahs YouTube partnership in June 2023 after his news had become public with a minor. His first appeal was only rejected, but now, months later, the group apparently changed.
In one Opinion to Kotaku It is said that after a “careful exam” Beah can take part in the partner program again – but with the warning that measures could be taken again in the event of further violations.
Why Google has changed its decision remains unclear. But while Beah can benefit financially again, Midnight Society remains only another failed studio in the history of the game industry.
The closure is part of a continuing wave of layoffs and studio closings, which Ubisoft and Bioware recently met. You can find more about this in the link box above.
