Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was selling at launch as fast as hardly any CoD before, and made its way into Steam’s top sellers, where it still ranks fairly high. But recently there is also a new skin for the shooter that it temporarily even in 11th place managed. Here you can find out why it is so popular and why so many players see it as a problem.
Although Modern Warfare 2 is a great sales success, multiplayer and Warzone 2 suffered from many problems at launch. Dimi explains in his column why the publisher still made the right decision for himself:

Is the infamous Roze skin back?
Above is a picture of the popular skin. It is the outfit of a team from the Call of Duty League, the Los Angeles Thieves. At first glance, the thing doesn’t seem particularly striking, the skin is completely black, except for some red details with the name of the team. Nevertheless, numerous players shell out 10 dollars for it on Steam: the package is currently still among the top sellers in 22nd place
Is there a competitive advantage?
The reason for the popularity is probably less that the LA Thieves have so many fans in the community. Instead, one promises oneself an advantage over others. For example, one LA Thieves player – whether he’s serious about it or not – advertises his team’s skin on Twitter with exactly this promise:

Since the skin is very dark, it is hoped that it will be difficult to see in less well-lit locations and indoors. A similar case already existed in Warzone 1, here it was the infamous Roze skin, which was almost completely black and barely visible in the dark. This then had to be adapted by the developers in order not to offer a playful advantage.

For example, @T_Munch3 on Twitter argued that the problem with the Roze skin was a bug and not its black color. Because there would have been other black skins that would not have been a problem. And also in Reddit of Modern Warfare 2 many are of the opinion that there is no advantage with the new skin.

So it’s questionable whether the buyers of the skin, who don’t just want to support their favorite team, have done themselves a favor. Nevertheless, you currently have to reckon with the fact that you will get many real or false ones in matches met fans of the LA Thieves.
What else is new about Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2?
