Skull & Bones: More content after the first year? This is what it looks like!

Bones, content, Skull, Year

What's next for Skull & Bones after its first year of content? Ubisoft apparently wants to continue to hold on to the pirate title.

After numerous delays, Skull & Bones was finally released in February 2024 and has been regularly supplied with fresh content since then. But what happens next when Year 1 is officially over? There are increasing signs that the company will continue to play the game.

As the usually well-informed insider Tom Henderson reports, citing unnamed sources, Ubisoft already has plans to bring new content for the action game in the second year after its release.

The first season of Year 2 is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2025 and will therefore probably bring with it a completely new PvP game mode. In addition, new POIs and other content will be added.

For the future of the game, Ubisoft is apparently also exploring possibilities for further premium cross-over events, including a Black Flag cross-over, which roughly coincides with the presumed release of the one that has been buzzing around in the rumor mill for a long time, but has not yet been announced Remake of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag should coincide.

The future of Skull & Bones was quite uncertain after Ubisoft had previously canceled the shooter XDefiant. However, things are different with the pirate game and the company continues to fully support it – even though the number of players for the title on Steam doesn't necessarily look rosy either. Most recently, there were just 200 players playing Skull & Bones at the same time on the PC platform.
