What happens in the village remains (not) in the village
The Village, your Wikindiedlung, becomes the linchpin of history and possible relationships. In an interview with Eurogamer, lead producer Julien Lafarrière reveals what role the village will play.
"It is your own Viking settlement that you see growing and thriving and where your clan members live. It is the center of all quests and the center of the decisions that you make. We want players to see the consequences of their actions."

Already in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey there was the possibility to enter into romantic relationships of all kinds. However, in the Legacy of the First Blade DLC, players were suddenly forced into heterosexual marriages with children. The decision met with so much resentment among the players that Ubisoft used a patch to end this relationship.
