Someone managed to get PT on an unjailbroken PS5 and it worked

Just last week, we covered how someone managed to jailbreak the PS5, and of course, people started installing PT on their consoles. PT, later known as the Silent Hill game’s demo, is a bit of a mystery in 2022.

PT emerged as a humble demo in 2014. It wasn’t long before someone figured out the mystery and realized it was for the upcoming Silent Hill game. Then, after a conflict between Konami and Hideo Kojima, Silent Hill was canceled, and PT was removed from the PlayStation Store and faded away.

That said, people have been chasing high PT ever since. The demo has various PC clones, many of which are great, but none of them are perfect, and of course, given the news about the PS5 jailbreak, many are trying their luck again to install the PT. Sadly, the game can be installed, but not able to run it. Anyway so far.

Streamer and modder Lance McDonald has finally managed to get PT running on an unjailbroken PS5, and he’s been sharing the entire process with anyone interested in his Twitch channel.

So how does Lance do it? Well, to be honest, it’s not something many of us can do. So, don’t expect that you’ll be playing PT tonight. Basically, Lance needs to have PT legally on the PSN account. He then activated his PSN account on both the jailbroken PS5 console and the regular non-jailbroken console, and was able to proceed to install the PKG file on the regular PS5 for demonstration purposes.

Obviously, this required Lance to back up a lot of files he didn’t want to lose. That’s because, ultimately, if you happen to have two PS5s knocking on your door, you can try this. However, this comes with the risk of your account being banned.

Konami finally revealed the perfect timing for the discovery last night, considering the upcoming Silent Hill reveal.
