The new Sonic movie The Hedgehog has captivated all the followers of the character with its incredible story and action-packed moments, so much so that it has become one of the most successful video game movies of all time due to its good reception in Box office during launch. I really try to catch Sonic and Robotnik and establish their rivalry because I don't … I mean, I love it … There are a lot of great characters in the Sonic universe, but the most important thing is just set up Sonic and just tell a bit of an origin story with him, and do it in a way that really makes everyone fall in love with him as a character and just look for more. And then, if all goes well, then we can open it and bring some of these other characters that fans know and love. And yes, I mean, nobody is more excited than me to have that opportunity ».
Considering Fowler's words, the production wanted to capitalize on Sonic's origin, so it would be very hurried to place several characters that could form other stories in the future, such as Knuckles. Likewise, he affirms that if everything goes well and a sequel is confirmed, we may see this character and others in the next stories.
