Gaming News Sonic Frontiers: an even better sequel? The director addresses the gamers following the game’s success at the Game Awards
Sonic Frontiers came very close to a surprise first place finish at The Game Awards two days ago. The SEGA mascot’s latest adventure has obviously won over the players, who overwhelmingly voted for him. Which makes the game’s director happy, who makes big promises for the future.
A second place but a big win
At the end of an evening full of revelations, the Game Awards gave their verdict on Thursday night. At the 2022 awards ceremony, the best games of the year were honored with numerous prizes. An event largely dominated by the two giants Elder Ring etc God of War: Ragnarok.
While most awards are voted on by industry experts, The Game Awards also give players a voice with the Player’s Voice Award. This year, the players decided to award the prize to Genshin Impactclosely followed by Sonic Frontiers. The last adventure of the blue hedgehog visibly convinced the players despite mixed press reviews (71/100 ff.). metacriticalincluding 13/20 µm JV. Nice revenge, then, for Sonic, who had a hectic promotion prior to his arrival. This second place really touched Morio Kishimoto, director of the game, who wanted to thank the players.
A bright future?
On Twitter, Morio Kishimoto sent a quick message to players and his team following the success of Sonic Frontiers at the Game Awards. The director thanked everyone, but also arranged to meet up with the players in the future and promised an “even more exciting” experience.
