The first of three free content updates sonic frontier has been released with newly added features and modes.
Dubbed the “Sights, Sounds and Speed” update, it includes a photo mode and a jukebox that lets you play your favorite tracks while exploring the Starfall Islands. It includes tracks from Sonic Frontiers and past Sonic games. There are 53 songs in total, 13 of which can be unlocked and played immediately after the game update. You can unlock the remaining 40 songs by collecting sound memories on the five islands, denoted by orange notes.
The update includes a new challenge mode to test your skills and playable after completing the campaign.
There’s Cyberspace Challenge mode, where you race through seven cyberspace stages in a row in Time Attack mode while racing against time.
Then there’s the battle sprint mode. Here, you’ll engage in rounds of increasingly difficult enemies, guardians, and titans in a timed battle mode. Your goal is to get the fastest time with your upgraded Sonic. If you get a higher ranking, you might get a special surprise.
This update also includes other changes. These include Power Boost animations and a Starfall slot machine that can be toggled in the Options menu.
Cyber Space levels can be restarted at mid-level, and when upgrading Sonic, it is now possible to swap multiple Kocos at once with Elder and Hermit Kocos.
Updates will be installed automatically where automatic updates are supported, or can be retrieved manually.
Additional free content updates, actually two for the Sonic Frontiers game, are expected later this year.
