Sonic, our favorite blue hedgehog, hasn’t stopped talking about him for a few days. Except that today isn’t about bringing us his next title, Sonic Frontiers, but about revealing a little more about the Netflix series Sonic Prime.
A new hero appears
After formalizing during Sonic Central the presence of Shadow, the dark-eyed hedgehog, of the Netflix series Sonic Prime rushes back to the front of the stage during Netflix Geeked Week to introduce us to a new hero: Big.
Indeed, it’s the turn of the big cat Big, a friend of Amy’s, to enter Sonic Prime, as confirmed by the excerpt available above. He can be seen spinning in place as Sonic zooms past him. He is also accompanied by his friend Froggy the frog.
As a reminder, Big the Cat was introduced in the game Sonic Adventure released in 1998. Recently he also had a major role in Team Sonic Racing.
A series for the youngest
Even if fans of the blue hedgehog are mostly those who discovered the saga on MegaDrive, it should be noted that Sonic Prime is a series aimed at the youngest. In any case, this was specified by SEGA and Man of Entertainment, the producers of the animated series.
The 24-episode animated adventure, aimed at kids ages 6-11, will star the video game’s famous “Blue Lightning” in an explosive adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse rests in his gloved hands. More than a race against time to save the universe, Sonic’s adventure is a journey of self-discovery and redemption.
At the moment, Sonic Prime doesn’t have an exact release date, but the series should land on Netflix by the end of the year.
