Game news Sonic Rangers: first specific information about the next-gen game from SEGA?
Towards the end of May we got rumors of corridors surrounding a mysterious new Sonic game slated for release on consoles and PC. Even so, Sonic team leader Takashi Iizuka admitted that the announcement may have been premature because rather than reassuring fans, it only made them more impatient, even though we knew next to nothing about it.
In fact, this new Sonic game doesn’t have an official name yet and is often called ” Sonic Rangers
An open world that lives up to its name?
Officially as part of Sonic Central’s digital 30th anniversary event As already mentioned, even his real name is currently unknown: The name “Rangers” only appeared in the press release of the event, which suggests a provisional alias.
However, that famous Sonic game might have revealed more about him today through a recent trademark application.. This discovery, spotted by Renka_schedule on Twitter, seems to suggest that the Japanese publisher has submitted a new name for the game, which is ” Sonic Frontiers »
Sega applied for the “Sonic Frontier” and “SONIC FRONTIERS” trademarks.

That being said, there are two options for players in terms of this name deposit. It could actually be the actual title of the Sonic game planned for 2022 – “Rangers” as its prototype could be called – or even an entirely different project running on the premises of the Japanese publisher.. Whether the first hypothesis makes sense, since the two titles seem more or less connected, is just a matter of guesswork at the moment.
We must therefore wait for the formal formalization of SEGA to know whether ” Sonic Frontiers Is the title of the next game of the publisher’s blue mascot. However, as we near 2022 and its possible release – it gets technical on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Switch expected – should be fixed very soon!
