There have long been rumors that Sony is working behind the scenes on a competitor to the Xbox Game Pass. Such a system could possibly be officially presented as early as next week.
Under the working title “Project Spartacus”, Sony is said to be working on a direct competitor to the Xbox Game Pass. The said rumors have been around for a long time now. Accordingly, the previously separate services PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now are said to be merged into different price levels.
We may find out as early as next week whether this is really the case. This is how the well-known business magazine reports Bloomberg
The article goes on to say that the service will launch with a decent lineup of “recent hits.”
Previously it was said that Project Spartacus will cost a monthly fee and will offer access to both classic and more recent titles. The project apparently sees itself as an Xbox Game Pass for PlayStation consoles and was expected for spring 2022; an official confirmation from Sony is currently pending.
