Some popular games are having their offspring on mobile phones. Including a real video game legend – it’s even being revived with augmented reality.
As Square Enix revealed at its own Square Enix Presents yesterday, the Montreal subsidiary is currently working on mobile editions for Just Cause and Hitman. The classic Space Invaders will also get an augmented reality implementation.
Just Cause Mobile was announced by Square as a free-to-play shooter set to take place in the universe of the same name. Fans of the series can look forward to old friends like Rico Rodriguez and Annika Svensson. When the title for the cell phones will be released has not yet been revealed.
Hitman Sniper Assassins only got one working title. In the future, our agent 47 should also flicker on the mobile screen. The release for Hitman Sniper Assassins is targeted for this year and is planned for both iOS and Android.
Last but not least, Space Invaders receives an augmented reality implementation from the Canadian studio. The pixel classic from 1978 was one of the most influential titles in video game history alongside Pac-Man. The retro hit is now being reissued on iOS and Android with augmented reality elements.
