All “Squid Game” fans take note: In addition to the already confirmed 2nd season, the 3rd edition may also follow. More on Netzwelt.
- Netlix and the creator of “Squid Game” are currently negotiating a third season.
- The 2nd edition of the dark show was announced back in November.
- This would considerably shorten the waiting time between seasons 2 and 3 for viewers and fans.
That would be a small sensation. The dark, macabre South Korean series “Squid Game” was clearly the show of the year. Not only is “Squid Game” the most successful Netflix series of all time, the influence on pop culture in 2021 was obvious. The news that a second season of “Squid Game” is on its way was all the more gratifying.
But now it’s getting even bigger: like that Korea Times reports that “Squid Game” maker Hwang Dong-hyuk is with Netflix currently in talks about a 3rd season. In an interview with the South Korean broadcaster KBS, Hwang said: “I’m talking to Netflix about a second season and also a 3rd season.
This wonderful news for all “Squid Game” fans all over the planet would mean that a third season will probably appear relatively quickly after the release of issue 2. This solution would certainly only offer advantages for all sides. There is planning security for the series makers and actors. Seasons 2 and 3 can be produced in one piece, which also saves costs. And for the fans, the waiting time between editions is shortened.
The fact that Netflix is extending very successful series by several seasons ahead of time is no exception. Most recently, for example, the streaming service from California ordered seasons 3 and 4 of “Bridgerton” in April 2021 – even before the release of the Season 2 on March 25, 2022. “Bridgerton” has been replaced by “Squid Game” as the most successful Netflix series of all time.
