Just when we thought we’d seen it all, someone went ahead and turned our world upside down with Unreal Engine 5. How did they do that? Well, they originally made a UE5 demo with a cute squirrel running around doing his own thing. However, we were truly conquered when the squirrel took up the gun.
First, our furry friends treated us with pistol grips as they put their loaded sidearms around the little sandbox made for them. Their tiny hands barely reach the trigger, so we don’t see them letting go of any guns. That being said, we do see them running around on their hind legs while staying upright in a comical way.
However, the video really came into play when they picked up their Mac 10 submachine guns, as they jumped into the air and used rapid fire to propel themselves upwards. Look, we know everyone is watching the cool Unreal Engine 5 demo and screaming “Wow, they should turn this into a full game!” But come on now, this one definitely deserves it. You can watch the video below and you’ll see what we mean.
Obvious appeal aside, it’s worth mentioning that the fur effect on the squirrel does look lush. Before any gun nonsense starts, we can see the camera pan up close and you can really see a ton of detail in the texturing work. This is impressive stuff!
We’ve featured an impressive collection of Unreal Engine 5 projects on this site, including some great fan projects as well as future AAA games in development, but these completely original little demos are a great showcase for those with a little creativity People and developers know how to stand out from the latest technology.
