“Star Trek: Picard” got off to a rough start. The first two seasons were met with mixed responses, and many “Star Trek” fans weren’t comfortable with the show’s dark approach. With “Star Trek: Picard” season 3, the nostalgics and critics were finally convinced and fans want a spin-off.
Showrunner Terry Matalas regularly talks about the idea of Star Trek: Legacy, and fans love it. He wants to give the young guard around Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) and Sydney La Forge (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) a series of their own and give the old guard cameo options.
Now he has revealed that he also has plans to bring Alexander Rozhenko back. The Klingon is the son of fan favorite Worf (Michael Dorn). Alexander Rozhenko has guest-starred on and off Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Worf’s son seems to have fallen a little under the carpet during the introduction of the younger generation in “Star Trek: Picard” season 3 and when a fan asked on Twitter how Worf’s son was doing, he promptly replied that Alexander was part of “Star Trek: Legacy” would become.
Matalas seems set on getting fans excited about his show idea so much that fan desire for the show grows, eventually putting pressure on Paramount+ bosses. This is how the “Star Trek: Discovery” spin-off “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” was brought to life.
It remains to be seen whether the series will continue after the end of “Star Trek: Picard”. The new series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” has just been announced and there are sure to be more “Star Trek” releases to be announced this year!
