Originally on the PC in 2010, the MMORPG Star Trek Online is now up to mischief, which has also been available for consoles since the middle of the last decade. There you can now look forward to a new expansion.
Anyone who has stayed on the ball in Star Trek Online on consoles can now look forward to the new expansion “Shadow’s Advance”. This is now also available on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
In the latest content update, you join the Terran Forces under the command of Marshal Janeway; The latter is played by Kate Mulgrew, who originally filled the role in Star Trek: Voyager and most recently reprized it in Prodigy on Paramount+. You must kidnap a person of special interest on Jupiter Station in Federation space.
To accomplish this, you’ll also work with two familiar allies from the game universe: Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman) from Star Trek: Discovery and Admiral Leeta (Chaste Masterson) from Star Trek Online.
The full list of content included in the update (according to official sources) reads as follows:
- New Special Episode: In the new episode “Red,” players will work with Marshal Janeway and the Terran Forces under her command to kidnap a person from a secured facility.
- New Task Force: With the new season comes a new task force for five captains called “Iuppiter Iratus”. Players must assemble a team of five to stop the Terran Empire from stealing valuable data from Jupiter Station.
- Anniversary Event: By popular demand, the developers have relaunched the “Omega Molecule Stabilization” mission, in which players must stabilize omega molecules that Q has scattered across the galaxy. Participation in this event and the matching Mirror Universe TFO will unlock this year’s anniversary ship, the Jarok Alliance Carrier [K6].
- Originalschauspieler: Star Trek Online welcomes Kate Mulgrew, the original actress of Captain Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, to the game. The Captains also meet the mischievous Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman from Star Trek: Discovery) and Admiral Leeta (Chase Masterson from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), who also starred in our final season, Reflections.
Star Trek Online is free to play on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
