Almost two years after its initial release, season 2 of “Star Trek: Picard” is finally landing on free TV. The first season can also be seen.
We have known that Paramount is also showing its own productions outside of Paramount+ since the announced Netflix launch of “Yellowstone”. Numerous “Star Trek” series ended up on other streaming services in Germany – initially an emergency solution, because when “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Star Trek: Picard” started, there was no Paramount+ in this country.
Paramount+ now has all of the “Star Trek” programs on offer, but there is still no question of exclusivity here. After season 1 of “Star Trek: Picard” was already shown on Amazon Prime Video, Pluto TV and Tele 5, the second season is now also landing on free TV.
Ten weeks, two seasons
Tele 5 was once again able to secure the broadcast rights and will show “Picard” season 2 from February 26, 2024. Two episodes await you every Monday. To get you in the mood for the “new” season, Tele 5 is repeating season 1 of “Picard” from January 22nd, also every Monday evening at 8:15 p.m.
If you don’t want to wait any longer or want to continue with the third season of “Picard” straight after the Tele-5 broadcast, you can watch all three seasons on Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video. A free TV start for season 3 is likely, but we probably won’t expect it until 2025. Meanwhile, you can find new “Star Trek” releases every year on Paramount+.
