Does Q die in Star Trek: Picard Season 2? The plot of the sci-fi series at least seems to be working towards that. We explain why we are witnessing Q’s demise!
- What’s next for Q (John de Lancie) in Star Trek: Picard Season 2? Does the rogue die?
- Clues from Star Trek: Discovery point to the demise of Q and his entire species.
- “Star Trek: Picard” takes place in the 24th century. In the 25th century, the Q continuum disappears.
Star Trek: Picard Season 2 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The first two episodes have already been released and have brought back “Star Trek – The Next Century” prankster Q (John de Lancie). But he is much more upset than usual. Fans interpret the latest developments in such a way that Q will probably die.
Q is an omnipotent being belonging to the Q continuum. So Q is not just the name of the individual, but of the entire species. Q lives outside of space and time, at least in a context intangible to humans.
“Star Trek: Picard” takes place in the “Star Trek” chronology in the 24th century. In Star Trek: Discovery, set in the 32nd Century, we learn that the Federation has not had contact with the Q-Continuum since the 25th Century, and now “Picard” seems to have unraveled the mystery of why deliver.
Jean-Luc (Patrick Stewart) mentions to his crew that Q seems surprisingly unstable. More dangerous than being sick. Even when Picard asks Q if he has an illness, Q doesn’t deny it. It looks like Q is at a crossroads. before its end?
If you add one and one together, then we can conclude that not only Q itself, but the entire Q continuum is affected. But what happens to Q? Actor John de Lancie had already hinted that “Star Trek: Picard” would portray Q’s swan song.
Asked about a possible appearance in “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3, de Lancie remains cryptic. We remain curious to see how Q will continue in the Amazon Prime Video news program. Alongside “Picard” we are also excited about “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 4.
Incidentally, 2022 is a special highlight for “Star Trek” fans, because there are more “Star Trek” new releases on the US streaming service Paramount +, which is even supposed to expand to Germany in the summer of 2022.
