Star Trek: Pike vs. Picard – “Strange New Worlds” ends the debate in two criteria!

• A new Star Trek character, Captain Pike, enters the ring to claim his place as the best Enterprise captain.

• In the second episode of “Strange New Worlds” we are presented with two aspects in which Pike at least has the edge over Picard.

The new “Star Trek” series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” is located in the “Star Trek” chronology before “Starship Enterprise” and illuminates Capta in Pike (Anson Mount), who was previously only a minor character or side note. Currently, “Star Trek: Picard” main character Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) is ahead of many fans, even ahead of Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner). But in episode 2 of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Pike can directly show that he is superior to Picard in two ways.

Star Trek: Pike vs. Picard – strengthening the social community

Friends of “Spaceship Enterprise – The Next Century” know that Jean-Luc doesn’t like being under his crew and withdraws as much as possible, reads a book or listens to classical music. Picard doesn’t do much for the community and often feels out of place among his crew members.

This is due to Picard’s nature of keeping his feelings to himself and having fears of commitment. Although Picard doesn’t often mingle with his friends, he’s naturally respected and liked by everyone. Picard is best known for being wise, diplomatic, just, and compassionate.

Captain Christopher Pike is arguably held in similar esteem aboard his spaceship. But what clearly sets him apart from Picard is his personal and warm personality. We see in episode 2 of “Strange New Worlds” that he invites some of his crew members to dinner and tells them anecdotes from his youth.

Difficult to imagine with Picard! Pike is committed to a family atmosphere and attaches great importance to the fact that rankings on board are not important at such “family dinners”.

Star Trek: Pike vs. Picard – the fight against Nausicaans

During the dinner together, Pike not only shows that he is superior to Jean-Luc Picard on a social level, but also that he coped better with a fight with a Nausicaan. Pike recounts how he encountered a Nausicaan when he was young and narrowly escaped the confrontation scot-free.

Picard also had a fight with a Nausicaan when he was young, but didn’t come off quite as well as Christopher Pike. Picard was wounded so badly that he had an artificial heart from then on. Two to zero for Captain Pike!

Of course, this comparison should be seen with a wink. After all, in the hearts of many fans, nobody can match the legendary Captain Picard. But Pike still has a glorious future ahead of him with “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and the chance to continue to conquer the hearts of fans.
