Star Trek games aren’t exactly something you’ve seen very often in the last couple of years, but one more thing has been announced: Star Trek: Resurgence comes from former Telltale developers.
The Game Awards announced Star Trek: Resurgence, a narrative adventure from a new studio called Dramatic Labs, formed by former developers of Telltale Games. So people with experience who have worked on games like The Walking Dead, Batman, Game of Thrones and The Wolf Among Us.
Accordingly, it should be a narrative game that is set shortly after the events of the TV series The Next Generation. You take on the role of First Officer Jara Rydek and flight engineer Carter Diaz, together with old and new faces on board the USS Resolute. The aim is to prevent two alien civilizations from being plunged into war.
As is to be expected, dialogues come up with important decisions. But action scenes are also included, as you can see from the announcement trailer. A Spock cameo is also included as a fan service.
Star Trek: Resurgence should be released in spring 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xboox Series X / S.
