It’s already mid-October and one would actually assume that the few games that should be released this year are safe. Far from it, Star Trek is also moving into the future.
Dramatic Labs’ narrative adventure Star Trek: Resurgence was originally slated for release later this year. Should … but nothing will come of it instead, the title flees into the future and is now scheduled for release in April 2023 for PC, Xbox and Playstation. So one less game to spend the cool autumn evenings with.
A statement on Twitter said that while production has progressed well over the summer, more time is needed to polish the game and make it a truly immersive experience.
Announced during last year’s Game Awards, Star Trek: Resurgence aims to take you back in time after Star Trek: The Next Generation. In it you experience the story from changing perspectives of the two characters First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz.
In terms of play, Star Trek: Resurgence is primarily similar to the narrative adventures from Telltale Games, which is not surprising given that developer Dramatic Labs was founded by former Telltale boss Kevin Bruner and 20 other Telltale employees.
