EA’s own event EA Play Live is taking place in the new week, and Star Wars fans are hoping for a possible sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The publisher has already commented on this in the run-up to the event.
And Electronic Arts makes it clear: Don’t get your hopes up that there will be a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the new week. In fact, the sci-fi franchise as a whole won’t play a role at EA Play Live. According to speculations, the wind is taken out of the sails in advance.
“We will not show any new Star Wars games at EA Play Live on July 22nd,” said a tweet. At the same time, the anticipation for the coming year is fueled: “We are all looking forward to celebrating next year with you when we can share our vision for the galaxy far, far away.”
EA is known to remain loyal to the Star Wars brand and will thus present one or more new games in the world of the successful franchise in 2022. Then a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order should probably also be conceivable, because the publisher’s last title was quite convincing. Rumors said in the past that work on a successor had already started; an official announcement has not yet been made.
The last announcement was for the free-to-play title Star Wars: Hunters at a Nintendo Direct conference in February; the game will be released for the Switch.
