There have been solid indications of a third part of Star Wars Jedi for some time now – and now Electronic Arts has spoken out about it for the first time! Part 3 therefore also marks the end of the game series.
With Star Wars Jedi, Electronic Arts and Respawn have delivered a successful single-player spin-off of the famous sci-fi franchise, which so far has two parts, Fallen Order and Survivor, and tells the story of the Jedi Cal Kestis. This is officially not yet finished, because there will indeed be a third part of Star Wars Jedi.
For the first time, the publisher, in the person of Laura Miele, President of EA Entertainment & Technology, has spoken in more detail about this title, which has otherwise not yet been officially announced. During a presentation during EA’s Investor Relations Day, Miele said:
“We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games ever made. That impressive track record also includes the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his story of becoming a powerful Jedi.”
She then added: “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this exciting story to players.” This confirms earlier rumors and signs of a third installment; however, this will also put Star Wars Jedi to rest for good.
Stig Asmussen, director of Fallen Order from 2019 and Survivor from 2023, had previously stressed that he had hopes of making a third Star Wars Jedi, as he had always envisaged a three-game story arc for the franchise. In the meantime, Asmussen has left Respawn and formed his own studio, but his former desire at EA and the developer is now being put into action.
