The sparrows have long been whistling it from the rooftops, but now Respawn Entertainment and EA have nailed it: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting a sequel called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Along with Lucasfilm Games, developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts have now officially announced Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as part of the Star Wars Celebration; There were already corresponding rumors in the run-up to the event, which should now turn out to be correct. The new action-adventure is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, so the title will continue to accompany the journey of Jedi Cal Kestis.
The development team at Respawn is led by Stig Asmussen as game director and builds on the fundamentals of Fallen Order; accordingly, you can expect a continuation of the stories told there, including the characters and fights. Last-gen owners will be left out this time, because the title will no longer be available for PS4 and Xbox One. Rather, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released exclusively for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in the coming year 2023; However, there is no specific date yet.
The sequel takes place five years after the events of Fallen Order. Faced with constant persecution, Cal Kestis must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s minions. Meanwhile, he becomes more and more aware of what it means to be one of the last Jedi in the galaxy. Alongside his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will bond with a variety of unique and interesting characters throughout his journey. Jedi: Survivor aims to expand the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. To survive, Cal must learn new skills and strengthen his connection with the Force.
More details about the new Star Wars title will be announced later this year. You can watch the first teaser clip below.
