Director Patty Jenkins confirmed that “Star Wars: Squadron of Thieves” will not be adapted from the video game of the same name.
The upcoming “Wonder Woman” (Wonder Woman) directed film may have the same name as a series of arcade-style games, but Jenkins confirmed in an interview with IGN that the film will have a complete original story.
Jenkins explained when talking about the film: “We are making some original works with the influence of games and books.” “There are many things that people recognize and understand about the greatness of all these features, but yes, yes. , This is an original story, and I am happy to do so.”

It seems that this movie will not follow Luke Skywalker and the Wedge Antilles’ raid on the Galactic Empire outpost.
Judging from Jenkins’ comments, it seems that we will still get the story of fighter pilots – we can expect to be different from the melee and escort missions we saw in the game.
The movie “Rogue Squadron” was announced at Disney’s Investor Festival in early December and will be released on the holiday of 2023.
If you want to learn more about “Star Wars Squadron” (this time the game), EA recently launched a new December update for the space melee simulator.
The latest update also introduces some new starfighters and fixes many bugs-the New Republic gets the B-wing starfighter, and the Galactic Empire gets the TIE “guard” multi-role starfighter.
