2023 is supposed to be a big year for Bethesda, as two blockbusters are planned for this year. But which one appears first? Starfield or Redfall?
When it comes to Bethesda’s next titles, most gamers probably have higher expectations of space epic Starfield than they do of Redfall. Both games are slated for release next year, but when and in what order?
If you’re primarily interested in Starfield, you’ll have to wait longer. This has now been officially confirmed by Matt Booty, Head of Xbox Games Studios, to which Bethesda is now a member.
Booty was last on the podcast as a guest Friends Per Second listen. In an interview, he confirmed that Redfall’s release date would be the first to be confirmed before Starfield’s will follow.
At the same time, Redfall will also be released later as the first of the two titles before Starfield will take off. Both are currently officially scheduled for the first half of 2023 – at least according to the company’s most recently communicated status.
According to the original plan, both upcoming AAA titles from Bethesda should have appeared in 2022, but back in May of this year they got down to business and announced the postponement to 2023.
Detached from the fact that both the vampire shooter Redfall and the space RPG Starfield are extremely promising, fans should be looking forward to the release simply because resources should then be free at Bethesda to work on the long-awaited The Elder Scrolls VI to advance
