In February, Valve launched the Steam Deck, making it possible to play the Steam game library on the go. The platform has now reached a major milestone.
It’s no longer the big surprise, but: The Steam Deck from Valve has turned out to be a success since it was released in February 2022. This can now also be read off in numerical form from a milestone that has now been reached.
As confirmed by Valve, the one million copies shipped mark has now been reached; this has now been made public as part of a keynote. Further copies are already in delivery. Emails for Q4 pre-orders are currently being sent out, and those interested could potentially get their coveted Steam Deck in their hands before Christmas.
Breaking the million mark was confirmed during a Q&A session at the KDE conference. Among other things, Linux on Steam Deck was discussed there and keynote speaker David Edmundson stated that Valve had recently reached the impressive mark for its platform.
Above all, the Steam Deck lives from the outstandingly large range of games, after all, almost the entire library on Steam can be streamed on the device. The demand among PC gamers who wanted to gamble on the go was correspondingly high right from the start.
