With the official cancellation of E3 in 2020, the host of the Game Awards Geoff Keighley (Geoff Keighley) announced that the Steam Games Festival will return again this year.
The Steam Game Festival will begin on June 9th, the original date for E3, and will continue until June 14. As with the previous Steam Games Festival, the upcoming event will provide Steam users with a 48-hour free game demo window, although Keighley's tweet suggested that things might be bigger this time.
He wrote: "About my summer vacation plan, there will be more news soon, this is a new way for all of us to meet and celebrate the game in this uncertain moment."

The Steam Game Festival was first announced in 2019, keeping pace with The Game Awards.
"Six years ago, I bet everything I had to pay to create a game jackpot to celebrate our passion for games," Keighley said at the time. "Now it feels like the right time to take the next step at the game festival is a completely digital method of consumer activity.
“Let ’s face it: not everyone can participate in physical trade shows or consumer events. The design of the game festival is from scratch, without obstacles, extending the benefits of sports games to the world of watching The Game Awards Gaming community. "
The spring edition of the event was held in March, highlighting 40 games, and its demo was designed for the GDC event postponed this year.
