PC gaming feels more alive than ever. As proof of this, this new record was broken by Steam in terms of the number of concurrent players.
Currently and since the Covid crisis, Valve’s Steam platform has been a real hit. This is due to several factors. Many users have been able to embark on the PC adventure and especially on Steam to pass the time, that is a fact. However, the increasingly important share of the Asian market and in particular the Chinese market should not be neglected. China is a PC giant and Steam is currently taking advantage of that.
When Valve breaks its own Steam record
As early as January 2022, we reported on a Steam record that stood at 28 million simultaneous players. For comparison: That corresponds to more than the population of Cameroon. Well, this time the new record is simple 30 million users at the same time more than a country like Venezuela.
For the record, it took Steam 14 years to peak at 15 million concurrent users in 2017, but only 5 years for the next 15 million. It’s just gigantic. Corresponding an article from 2019 PC gaming in China would have around 312 million PC players (estimated number) so that’s that many users to conquer for Valve to bring it to Steam
In addition, for this reason we can see many games, including independent ones, that offer a Chinese translation whenever possible. Because it’s always that extra to attract potential players from this huge market.
