Capcom will soon be adding Akuma, a well-known fighter, to the current Street Fighter 6; a gameplay trailer also shows this in action.
The legendary Akuma is now making the leap into the current fighting game Street Fighter 6. As Capcom has now officially confirmed, the character will be available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms from May 22, 2024 (via Steam) are available for download.
Akuma can now be used in all three game modes at the same time. In World Tour you will also learn more about his backstory. In the Battle Hub you can also adopt special moves for yourself and your avatar and fight to your heart’s content in the Fighting Ground. With Outfit 2 you can also experience Akuma in his debut look from Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
The character in Street Fighter 6 has the following moves:
- Gou Hadoken: Akuma’s infamous Fireball returns and can be charged into a red fireball, providing more options to hit or block.
- Ashura Senku: As in previous iterations, Akuma uses Ashura Senku to glide across the battlefield cloaked in shadows.
- Adamant Flame: One of Akuma’s new moves – here he performs a forward thrust and is enveloped in flames. This move is particularly useful in combos and, with its long range, helps to particularly hit vulnerable opponents.
- Messatsu Gohado: Akuma’s Level 1 Super Art – here he fires a highly concentrated Satsui no Hado ball.
- Empyrean’s End: Akuma’s Level 2 Super Art – here he turns Satsui no Hado into a powerful flame and uses it to ignite the opponent.
- Sip of Calamity: Akuma’s first level 3 Super Art – here he throws opponents face first onto the ground and then follows up with a powerful single punch.
- Shun Goku Satsu oder “Raging Demon”: This second level 3 Super Art can only be performed when Vitality is low enough for a Critical Art and can end combos. This time he allows players to see what can happen in a nightmare-filled second.
In addition to Akuma, the game is receiving other updates. With Outfit 1 for all Year 1 characters there are new styles. The long-awaited combat balancing update is also making its way into the title, with more details on this to follow in the coming weeks. And with Enma’s Hollow, a new stage has been revealed in which Akuma carries out his combat training.
