As is well known, Street Fighter 6 did not launch with all of the characters that were planned. This means that Capcom can still diligently add new fighters to the roster, including some fan favorites whose absence was not necessarily received positively.
For example, many long-time Street Fighter fans sorely missed M. Bison. The Undying Lord may not be a particularly sympathetic character in the series’ storyline, but players still enjoy using his brutal attacks.

After being missing from the launch of Street Fighter 6, M. Bison is now ushering in the second year of the fighting game. The character is not free, of course; you can get him either for 350 Fighter Coins or as part of the Character or Ultimate Pass. The Character Pass costs 29.99 dollars, which equates to around 7 dollars if you buy it individually.
Of course, Capcom is not only maintaining the character itself, but also offering content and updates specifically tailored to M. Bison for the various game modes:
- World Tour
- M. Bison Master Missions added
- Fighting Ground
- M. Bison’s story added to Arcade Mode
- Shop
- The shop now offers M. Bisons Outfit 2, plus Outfit 1 Colors 3-10
- additional features / updates
- In the pre-match challenge screen, selected music tracks from previous Street Fighter games can now be played
- In replays, playback speeds of 1.1x and 1.2x are now available, as is the “Rewind Frame” function (only applicable when the video is paused)
- the health indicator flashes when a critical art can be used
- Shortcut added to training mode in main menu
- In Versus mode, the win/loss result display for offline matches / tournaments can be reset
Of course, many more characters will be coming to Street Fighter 6 in Year 2. For example, Capcom promises the capoeira master Elena as well as Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from SNK’s Fatal Fury series. The latter are actually the first guest characters in the history of Street Fighter.
