The landing of the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise on Steam – with the exception of the fantastic Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory – is great news for all PC gamers. saga de Square Enix has been locked away in the Epic Games Store for the past few years, so its arrival on Valve’s platform has been widely applauded.
Las Adventures of Sora, Donald and Goofy neatly put together in the largest store for computer users, including a server. While this is a wonderful opportunity to get my first taste of Tetsuya Nomura’s crazy ideas, I have no motivation to relive those fantasy journeys.
Don’t get me wrong, Kingdom Hearts is my favorite series and it will always be, but I’ve simply played them so many times that I know the movie from beginning to end. However, what had not existed until now on consoles was the possibility of introducing mods by the tube and that is precisely what I have done.
I am a complete novice in this field, so I have had to learn everything necessary to transform the chosen one of the Keyblade into LinkMickey Mouse in Rayman and break the rules of the game so much that it is completely unfair to the enemies. We have come here to play and it could not be better said.
This is not the Sora I remember
NexusMods has become my main ally to carry out this task and the truth is that there is enough material to have fun. In my ignorance, I have discovered that it is necessary to install two programs attached to the ones themselves Kingdom Hearts
My goal is that the first Kingdom Hearts game is as far removed from the current material as possibleso I wanted to go back in time; maybe too far. I downloaded a skin for Sora that transforms him into the first prototype devised by Tetsuya Nomura, in which the protagonist is a sort of hybrid between a lion and a human. Of course, the clothes are completely different and I wanted to do the same for the Heartless. The Final Mix revisions of the first two installments changed the color palette of the dark creatures, which I immediately reverted.
I’ve been seeing my enemies in colors that don’t match them for too many years, so the old school was back. Since I couldn’t modify my two companions, I did it in the HUD to show a… particular view of them. On the other hand, I don’t plan on going through the RPG in a traditional way again, so I sent the rules to hell allowing Sora to fly at any time, one-hit kills, 100% item drop rate, and the Attract ability to be activated to the max. Obviously, I became a deadly machine against any opponent that stood in front of me.
However, to add some spice to the game, I introduced the KH ReTranslated mod that transforms the game’s texts into a translation made by Google, with obvious comical consequences. As if that weren’t enough, a group of people have dubbed the characters’ voices based on this modification, so laughter is guaranteed. Regarding the gameplay, I added: Critical Mix – Plusa mod that brings Devil May Cry closer to Kingdom Heartsso Sora becomes a real bullet with new movements.
Was it fun to play this way? To say the least, it was quick, as the credits rolled after just over three hours and after trying all sorts of dirty tricks. Square Enix didn’t design the game with the protagonist being able to fly all over the place, so I was able to reach areas I wasn’t supposed to be in ahead of time. The result is that the game goes absolutely nuts with thethe rupture of the space-time continuumwhich forced me to restart the program every time. At least Sephiroth had no possible way of attacking me.
It’s dangerous to go alone, Sora.
Although the first one has its good collection of nonsense Kingdom Heartsthe truth is that Kingdom Hearts 2 takes the cake. A real buffet to gorge yourself on to transform the game into an absurd madness, starting by replacing the chosen one of the Keyblade with the chosen one of the Master SwordYes, Link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the new protagonist on a journey where Donald and Goofy are a little… weird.
The skin I found for them turns them into some kind of hideous robots, so the sight of the trio running around in impossible outfits is great. The best thing is that the Fusions transform Link into alternative versions of himself with other colors, in the purest The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures style. In the same way, Mickey Mouse no longer exists, but is now Rayman who comes to save me with the Keyblade of the Kingdom of Darkness in his hand.
Kairi now looks like Aqua, while I’ve done my homework by returning all the Heartless to their original colors. I missed them in their usual color ranges, but what I did miss was Listen to Kingdom Hearts 2 in perfect SpanishThe legendary dubbing with which the second installment arrived in Europe is available thanks to a magnificent mod that recovers the voices that were imprinted in our minds back in 2006.
It was a huge hit of nostalgia, like I hadn’t felt for a long time. I’ve played the sequel more in English than in Spanish, so the sounds from 18 years ago were already very far behind me. Of course, there are sequences in which you can’t hear anything like in the previous ones. battles against Organization XIIIwhich are a bit different, or at least have stopped being Incorporeal.
I do recommend installing the mod to be able to jump without restrictions, although you cannot exceed the limits of the stage, since they are marked with invisible barriers. The only sure thing is to activate the invincible mode is disastroussince Sora/Link is supposed to take some hits by default during fights, but when he doesn’t take any damage, the game just explodes. That’s exactly what happened to me when I activated the mod so I could call Mickey Mouse at any time, but I did it at the best possible moment.
¿Rayman contra Sephiroth? It’s very real, and I’ll tell you that there’s no way to defend against the brutal attacks of Shinra’s experiment. Ubisoft’s mascot can barely take a couple of hits before collapsing, but he does his job of reviving Sora. I didn’t want to implement such absurdly crazy mods that swap the change from one room to another in the worlds, so you never know what you’re going to find. It would be a practically impossible game to beat, although at least I would have fun for a while.
Now yes, now I can’t get any more juice out of the original Kingdom Heartsbut I owe myself a debt. I never got around to playing the Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind DLC, and now is probably the time. I’ve only heard good things about it, so I want to find out what aces Yozora has up her sleeve.
