Tomb Raider will soon return with the first three games in the series in completely remastered versions. THE studio mixes old school and modern and it’s really cool!
Lara Croft is coming back soon to show off and do some antics on consoles and PC. Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered will be released next month and will breathe new life into the beautiful Englishwoman’s first adventures. Although it didn’t really show itself in detail, the compilation gave us a few screenshots that speak for themselves: The graphics have completely changed.
The first three games look better than ever
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered will be available on February 14th on PS5, Xbox Series, PC, Switch, but also on PS4 and Xbox One. In addition to the three full games, DLC will also be available for every episode released on PC at this time. A first on consoles. Achievements and trophies for each game will also be included on Xbox, Steam and PlayStation. The Aspyr studio also claims that some unknown surprises await us. We will see.
But what obviously stands out most about this collection is the work on the graphics. The first three Tomb Raiders, released in 96, 97 and 98, underwent a complete overhaul. Lara’s model has been completely redesigned, while the enemies have all been thoroughly polished. The same goes for the environments elsewhere, all of which are entitled to new textures if they maintain their old-school cubic appearance (a wish of the studio). The backgrounds, such as the sky or the horizon, have changed. The black fog of time has disappeared as there are no longer any technical limitations and the lighting effects have been fully recreated. With the games intact, the atmosphere will likely be drastically different. You can judge for yourself using the following pictures.
