With the launch of Lightfall, Destiny 2 servers were under siege, causing many players to experience lengthy please loading screens. Thousands of people want to dig into new content, but find themselves sitting there longer than they’d like.
The release of online video game expansion packs, especially massively multiplayer online games like Destiny 2, is usually a volatile event. However, there’s nothing like being part of the first wave on launch day. This causes a large wave of players to attack the server at the same time, causing these queues.
“Hopefully I can start playing soon. Taken the day off. Been playing almost an hour of the “Wait a minute…” emulator game now. 0/10 would not recommend so far.” Luke Hall tweeted. It’s a classic tragic tale, familiar to many MMO fans. Book precious off-duty time to sit and not play. Touching the grass or doing some chores is certainly a good excuse, but that’s not really the spirit of the event.

For Xbox gamers, things get even worse. A known bug has forced some players on the platform to uninstall previous DLC in order to launch the game when Lightfall launches. It’s safe to say there are plenty of holes to fill right now.
