We finally know what Lady Gaga’s voice sounds like as Harley Quinn in Harley Quinn Clown: Folie à DeuxYes, it does sound like her.
Yesterday, Warner Bros. revealed a new poster and a new image on TikTok for the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Joker, featuring Gaga playing the iconic A brief voice clip from Harley Quinn. “You can do whatever you want… you’re the clown,” Gaga can be heard saying in the video, with a whimsical musical harp playing in the background. Of course, anyone familiar with Harley Quinn’s classic debut in Batman: The Animated Series knows that she had a thick Brooklyn accent, thanks to her original voice actress Arlene Sorkin .

This of course means that nearly every version of the character since then has had the same accent (even if not every performer can do it that well), so fans are obviously wondering if Gaga will do the same. The first Joker didn’t quite fit into the stories Gotham City usually tells, though, so it’s no surprise that she just used her normal voice. Also, I’d rather she not force anything so it wouldn’t be too bad.

It won’t be long before you see her in action with Joaquin Phoenix, and as Gaga shared on her own Instagram, a trailer for the sequel will finally be released next week, on April 9. Maybe we’ll finally get confirmation as to whether it’s actually a musical, as has been reported multiple times.
Joker: Folie À Deux is due out later this year (October 4) and is now part of DC’s Elseworlds project alongside Batman, which basically means they can do their own thing without having to worry about the DCU’s Main settings.
