“We had hoped to bring the game to market by the end of March, but that proved to be beyond our capabilities; after all, we’re only human (unlike Shodan).”
The statement was followed by a brief transmission from Shodan itself. “You thought you could defeat me, but you were wrong. On May 30th, you will now face the consequences of your actions as you journey once more through the perilous depths of Citadel Station.”
This isn’t the first time a System Shock remake has been delayed, with the game started as a Kickstarter project in 2016. Originally expected to release in 2017, the game has been delayed several times over the years, most recently five months ago.
That said, it looks like a System Shock remake will be in the hands of (some) players soon. However, those looking to play the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S will have to wait a little longer.
