The company has decided to introduce a virtual currency, RP (Riot Points), to purchase the various cosmetics in the game. RP, which of course can be purchased with real money, but there is also a technique that allows you to acquire them freely.

Do you know Prime Gaming? This is one of the many benefits of an Amazon Prime membership, such as Prime Video or part of Amazon Music. Thanks to Prime Gaming, it is possible to benefit from several gifts for the current top games every month, including League of Legends. So you can come by at the beginning of each month and collect your bonus capsule, a digital item that is later restored in LoL and contains a variety of things like orange essences, skins or even free RP, which you can also buy here cosmetics. A little extra that League of Legends players particularly appreciated. Unfortunately, some very bad news has just arrived. Free RP and skins are almost over.
Free RP and Skins are over in 2024!
As of March 2024, you will no longer be able to claim your free League of Legends content through Prime Gaming. The news was shared by Riot, which explains to us that it is not even their responsibility, contrary to what one might have believed. So it is Prime Gaming, Amazon, that has decided not to extend this promotion, which has already been active for a very, very long time. And in addition to League of Legends, Valorant and all other Riot Games games are also affected, as Riot describes in detail on X: “Prime Gaming has decided not to extend our benefits, meaning Prime Capsules for all of our games will be discontinued in March 2024.”
Without really having an explanation, the Prime Gaming subscription will no longer allow you to benefit from free benefits in League of Legends from March 2024. News that does not go down very well with players, some also suggest logging out of Amazon services.
Prime Gaming should still retain its remaining privileges, only Riot Games appears to have been kicked out of the service, other games may follow suit, we’ll see.
