Team17 will release its first worm game within four years of 2020

Developer Team17 announced that it will launch a new worm game later this year.

The studio confirmed the news today on Twitter with a short teaser video showing the development of the Worms series over the years on an animated TV. There was a worm at the end of the trailer that broke the TV into pieces.

The tweet read: "Catch the bazooka, jump on the sheep, and the worm will return to 2020 like you have never seen it before." "New worm, new way of playing."

Grab your bazooka and jump on the sheep, and the worm will reappear in 2020 just like you've never seen it before.

This will be the studio's first major Worms title since 2016. Worms has been the flagship series of British studios, with 16 games released in the past 20 years-from 1995 to 2010. But in recent years, Team17 has moved into the game publishing world, releasing games like Overcooked, Yooka-Laykee, and Portia's My Time.
