Yesterday’s TDU Connect was awaited with some excitement, as gameplay for Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown was to be shown for the first time. Unfortunately, there was also bad news along the way.
Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown has been postponed again, so the reports from the past few days were actually correct. Although the TDU Connect briefly raised hopes that the racing game would be released this year, it is now certain that it will not be released until the beginning of 2024, albeit without a specific release date. According to the current status, the game will now be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and Xbox One are finally off the table. The question of the version for Nintendo Switch, which is still listed on the website but was not mentioned in the press release for the stream, is still unclear.
Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown has already had a few shifts. The open-world racing game that sends you to Hong Kong Island was originally set to release as early as September 2022, but was pushed back indefinitely to 2023 in May, along with the announcement that legacy consoles would no longer have a chance.
After all, during the stream it was also announced that the closed beta phase for Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown is actually scheduled to start later this month. The start date is July 24th, the beta should then last three days. The Registration should be on the official website
Apart from that, developer KT Racing and publisher Nacon have finally let the gameplay cat out of the bag and also showed plenty of gameplay throughout the 35 minute stream. If you missed it, you can watch the stream later on YouTube:
