The 47 most important games in 2024
After the blockbuster fireworks of 2023, the next twelve months can only fade like a tapestry in the summer sun? There’s a lot of games waiting for us in 2024 that… well, let’s put it this way: It’s by no means certain that they’ll all be good, but that all of them will be bad is statistically impossible.
In the extra-long video podcast, Géraldine and Micha fight their way through the 47 most important games of 2024 for us (!) for almost two hours – and even with that we only cover a fraction of the upcoming releases (see the honorary mentions below).
We discuss our hopes and concerns for games like Stalker 2, Manor Lords, Life by You or Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and discuss games with an unclear date that are finally due to be released (we’re looking at you, Dragon Age : Dreadwolf!) and speculate about announcements that would personally make us very happy.

Micha, for example, is not only looking forward to Homeworld 3, but also to the Civ competitor Ara: History Untold, which could possibly compete against the big Civilization 7 in 2024.
Géraldine, in turn, holds an extra-large telescope aimed at the horror genre with Silent Hill 2 and Little Nightmares 3, while at the same time she celebrates the new strength of life simulations, which will be added in 2024 by Life by You, inZOI and (perhaps in an early version) The Sims 5.
Either way, it will be an exciting and hopefully fun-filled year! You can see why exactly in the video above, or hear it here in the podcast:

Honorary mentions
Two games that didn’t make it into the video deserve an honorary mention here:
- Tempest Rising: The real-time strategy game inspired by Command & Conquer probably won’t be a big hit, but hopefully it’ll be a nice nostalgia trip for people who knew the genre when LoL was just for a laugh.
- Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden: The new role-playing game from Life is Strange and Vampyr studio Dontnod is intended to focus on exploration and at the same time develop narrative qualities. Does it strike the right balance?

And also listen to our second format “What do you play like that?”, in which editorial members and sometimes guests briefly and succinctly present their current favorite games. Well, or even longer if Micha has to defend herself against Géraldine’s infamous vampire accusations.
