If you are a fan of Studio Ghibli films, then this amusement park is for you. See instead.
Studio Ghibli has released a new video of some of the attractions guests can visit when Ghibli Park opens on November 1, 2022 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It’s very poetic.
A park that honors Studio Ghibli
In addition to paying homage to the timeless work of Hayao Miyazaki and the other artists who have contributed to the studio’s films, the park is designed to be ecological with very low impact on the trees and natural environment. Everything seems to be made with intelligence.
Once inside the park, visitors can tour Ghibli’s Great Warehouse, an interior filled with displays of the studio’s work. The aim is obviously to amaze the visitor while also appreciating the artistic work of the atelier. For example, we find the replica of Satsuki and Mei’s house in Mon Voisin Totoro.
The Ghibli theme park is scheduled to open in 3 phases. The first is coming in November 2022, phase two of Mononoke No Sato Park will open in fall 2023. Finally, phase three, The Witch Valley Exhibition, is planned for late 2023.
The latter is located opposite the Dondokodo Forest, which only children are allowed to enter to preserve the “magical” side. Detail seems to be pushed inside the buildings, which seems to reproduce what is seen in the various films.
