Life by You does everything that Electronic Arts doesn’t dare to do! At least that’s what they say when it comes to the big competitor to The Sims, which is scheduled to start early access this year. There is real voice acting, an open world again and even realistic graphics.
The latter in particular is the reason why the game will no longer be released in March. As Paradox has just announced, the life simulation has been postponed for a full three months and will now start its test phase on June 4, 2024

Life by You is very different from The Sims and that is its greatest strength
New release for Life by You
The game was previously planned for March 5, 2024, now we have to wait until early summer. According to the development studio, the reason for the postponement is that the team needs a little more time to bring the simulation graphics into a presentable state. The press release states:
The three-month extension allows the development team to refine the graphics of the human characters and further improve the gameplay. The strong community bond that the studio has built and maintained has been a driving force in ensuring a high quality game at the launch of Early Access.
Since this is still an early access release, it can be assumed that not everything will be in order in June either. But at least it’s finished enough to make the game available to paying customers.
The studio is currently planning to remain in Early Access for another 12 monthsto collect feedback and optimize the game together with the players. As is often the case, the period can be extended or sometimes even shortened.
Life by You is currently no longer available for pre-order on the Epic Store and if you have already done so, a refund is even possible. More information about this is available in the FAQ. Two expansion packs are also planned, which will be available to all players during Early Access.
In addition to Life by You, the Sims is currently facing competition from another direction. The Korean life simulation InZOI is also scheduled to be released in 2024 and comes from the people who previously developed PUBG. InZOI’s biggest strength so far is the truly impressive graphics as well as the clear focus on Korean culture rather than a generic one.
